Biscuit

Biscuit is the first half of our name and the reason there is a program at all. She is red and white with a classic blaze and a big white ruff, 11 years old, a little slower every year, and still the first one to the door. These days she holds down the couch under her blue blanket. She had four litters between 2017 and 2021, all with DM-clear sires, and was spayed after the last one. Pickle is her daughter and Olive is her granddaughter. In her retirement she worked as a therapy dog at a memory care home in Sellwood, where her job was mostly to be petted, and she was very good at it. Biscuit tests at risk for DM, with two copies. She has no symptoms at 11 and may never have any, but she is why we plan every pairing around that test.
